The first step of any skincare routine is cleansing. I follow a 2-step routine to remove makeup, wash my face, and get it ready for the application of skincare treatments. After oil cleansing, I follow with a normal soap cleanser. Following are reviews of a few of my standby facial cleansers.
#1 Biore Baking Soda Cleansing Scrub
$7.00 Amazon or Walmart
I've been using this product for the past year. I don't ever see myself stop using this. It's a powder. You pour a small amount onto your hands, add water and rub in your palms, then apply to a wet face and lather. It starts out as a very fine, grainy scrub that really gets in to your pores. As it dissolves, the graininess disappears, and you're left with a soft lather that you can use on your eyes to remove residual makeup. It never stings or burns me. It rinses pretty clean. I like to use this at night because its scrubbing action removes the last traces of makeup. It's wonderful for keeping your pores clear. The only con is the smell. It reminds me of what my horses smelled like after I shampooed them.
#2 Cosrx Low Ph Good Morning Cleanser
$9.00 Amazon
This is my morning cleanser. It's low foaming, easy to wash off, and has a slightly tea tree-ish smell to it. An important thing about cleansers is that they need to be Ph balanced so that your skincare products can be most effective. This one is. Like all of Cosrx's products, the ingredients in this one are decent. It also does not sting or redden my skin. It's easy to wash off and your skin feels clean, not not stiff afterwards.
